Important Notes, Risk Warning
and Disclaimer
The Haitong MPF Retirement Fund (the "Retirement
Fund") is a registered mandatory provident fund scheme and offers
different Constituent Funds which directly invest in or invest through Approved
Pooled Investment Funds in, primarily but not limited to, equity, money market
instruments and/or fixed income instruments, each with a different risk
profile. The Constituent Funds of the Retirement Fund may not be suitable for
all investors.
● Default Investment
Strategy (DIS) is a ready-made investment arrangement as stipulated in
accordance with the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance mainly designed
for those Members who are not interested or do not wish to make a fund choice,
and is also available as an investment choice itself for Members who find it
suitable for their own circumstances. For those Members who do not make an
investment choice, their contributions and accrued benefits transferred from
another MPF scheme will be invested in accordance with the DIS which may not necessarily be suitable for them. The DIS is
required by law to be offered in every MPF scheme and is designed to be
substantially similar in all MPF schemes. From 1 April 2017, the existing
default investment arrangement of the Retirement Fund (being approximately half
of the relevant contributions being in the Haitong MPF Conservative Fund and
the other half being allocated equally amongst the other Constituent Funds)
will be replaced by the DIS.
● Investors should
consider their own risk tolerance level and financial circumstances before
making any investment choices in the Retirement Fund. When investors select Constituent Funds and/or DIS and are in doubt as to whether a certain Constituent Fund and/or DIS is suitable for themselves
(including whether it is consistent with their investment objectives),
investors should seek independent financial and/or professional advice and
choose the Constituent Fund(s) and/or DIS most suitable for themselves taking into account their
circumstances.
● The investor should
not make investment decisions based on the information from this website alone.
The investor should always read the Offering Documents of the Retirement Fund
for further details (including the risk factors, fees & charges and fund
information) before making investment decisions.
● In the event of (i)
invalid, unclear or incomplete instruction for investment allocation for the
Mandatory Portion and/or the Voluntary Portion (if any), including amendments
which are not properly initialed; or (ii)the allocations of both portions are
not specified or incorrectly specified, the Trustee will invest the scheme
member’s contribution made and/or benefits transferred (if any) in accordance
with the DIS.
● All investments are
subject to risks, including but not limited to investment risks, concentration
risks, credit risks (including issuer and counterparty risks), currency risks,
interest rate risks and liquidity risks associated with the investment. The value
of units may go down as well as up. Past performance is not indicative of
future performance. There is no assurance on investment returns and your
investment may suffer significant losses.

Conservative Fund under this Retirement Fund is not a guaranteed fund
and does not guarantee the repayment of capital. Fees and charges of a MPF
conservative fund can be deducted from either (i) the assets of the fund or
(ii) members' account by way of unit deduction. This fund uses method (i) and,
therefore, unit prices/net asset value/fund performance quoted have
incorporated the impact of fees and charges.
